Vanessa Delgado ’95 mother of current Westridge student Isabella Delgado-Rojas ’21, is running for Montebello City Council 2015. Her campaign biography, featured here,, outlines her plan for Montebello, and shares her background:

Vanessa Delgado is a Montebello home owner and is a product of the local community.

Born in East Los Angeles, her early dedication to her studies allowed her to attend private school in Pasadena on a scholarship. She then attended Stanford University, earning a Political Science degree with honors, and then obtained a Master’s of Public Administration at USC as a Dean’s Fellow.

Immediately after college, Vanessa worked in local government in the cities of Pico Rivera, Anaheim and Downey. Her work locally was focused on economic development while securing grant funding for several large projects in the region.

Vanessa’s current work as Director of Development for Primestor Development allows her to build large commercial projects while creating jobs for the local community. She recently completed a $108 million dollar project called “azalea”, in partnership with the City of South Gate, which provided over 1,800 local jobs. Overall she has developed 2.2 million square feet of commercial space in California and Nevada.

Vanessa has participated on a number of boards and Commissions and currently serves on the City of Montebello Oversight Board and is Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis’ appointee to the Small Craft Harbor Commission (Marina del Rey). She is licensed as a Green Associate and holds a Real Estate Broker’s License.

Vanessa is a proud mother to 12-year old Isabella. They enjoy spending time with their cat Luna and dogs Gizmo and Nala, and their extended family.
