Earlier this week, we hosted our first ever Westridge Star Party where families, students, faculty, and staff got together for an evening of stargazing. The evening kicked off with good eats, courtesy of The Grilled Cheese and Los Lobos food trucks. Over 100 people and (luckily) clear skies turned out for the event where gazers enjoyed sightings of the moon and even Jupiter! Three telescopes were set up on the field and executive director of Carnegie Observatories, John Mulchaey, gave a wonderful talk and Q&A session pre-viewing. The most burning question topics? Black holes and of course ... aliens.
