The Westridge library is launching a new program this fall entitled “Westridge Reads," which will give students, faculty, and staff a chance to connect by sharing their personal book recommendations with the community. Anyone can volunteer to be a “guest curator” and create a display of 8-12 of their favorite books in the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The displays will be accompanied by “shelf talk” notes detailing what the curator loves about a particular book or providing recommendations for similar titles.

“I want to create a space where community members can share their book recommendations and connect with new people around books they enjoy,” said Librarian Stephanie Bolton. “I love the idea of bringing in other perspectives from across the community and having the chance to discover that you share a favorite book or genre with your English teacher, someone in another grade, or a staff member that you wouldn’t normally interact with.”

Keep an eye out for first the “Westridge Reads” display in ARC, which will be co-curated by 9th graders Mirella C. and Alice C.!
