The Westridge Speech & Debate team had an extremely successful spring 2020 season, despite unprecedented changes in the competition format due to COVID-19. At the end of March, tournaments moved online with students competing in both real-time and recorded video competitions. Before the move online, the team qualified students for both the State Championship and the Grand Nationals! While the State Championship Tournament was unfortunately canceled, the National tournament will take place online in June so the team will still be able to showcase their skills and strengths to the country! The Middle School squad went to a tournament at Irvine Valley College and the competition was fierce!
