Westridge School is pleased to announce its next Director of Athletics, Alice Lee, who will join Westridge in July 2025. She will succeed Melanie Horn, who will retire after 30 years at the end of this school year.

Alice brings 16 years of experience in collegiate athletics and currently serves as the head women’s lacrosse coach at Williams College. Alice’s administrative experience at Williams includes serving on the Athletics Organizational Restructuring Committee, the First-Year Experience Committee, and the Williams Athletics DEI Committee, and developing programs emphasizing empowerment, resilience, and mental wellness. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), and is a member of WeCoach, an organization dedicated to recruiting, advancing, and retaining women coaches in all sports and levels.

In addition to transforming Williams Women’s Lacrosse into a nationally recognized program with a top-10 ranking during her tenure, Alice instituted a team philosophy and core values, and an intentional, four-year leadership program to develop student-athletes who are both team and campus leaders. Her long and successful tenure at Williams, one of the most rigorous undergraduate programs in the nation, has provided her with insight into supporting athletes in the context of a highly academic school and the ways that sports and academics can inform and strengthen each other. In her own words, she is “passionate about using athletics as the playground for building leadership, resiliency, and confidence among young women.”

Prior to Williams, Alice coached lacrosse at Amherst College and Middlebury College, where she helped guide the team to league and NCAA titles and was named the IWLCA Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year. She received her Master of Science in Sports Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her BS in Management from Central Connecticut State University, where she was goalkeeper and a three-time, all-conference selection for the Division I school’s lacrosse team.

"She was the unanimous choice of our search committee, impressing us with her experience in program development as well as in skill and leadership development for both athletes and coaches, her mission alignment and thoughtful perspective on women’s athletics, and her inspirational leadership style," Head of School Andrea Kassar shared in a letter to the campus community. "We are thrilled that Alice, with a strong combination of experience and fresh perspectives, will be leading the Tigers in the next phase of our athletics program development."

Join us in welcoming Alice Lee!
