Congratulations to senior Katie S. '23 who was named a 2023 National Merit Scholarship finalist! She is one of 2,500 recipients of the National Merit $2,500 scholarships. To be considered, she took the PSAT/NMSQT and earned a qualifying score as a junior. Then, as a senior, she wrote an essay, completed an extensive application, and was recommended and supported in her application by the Westridge College Counseling Team.

Around 1.5 million students apply to the program and 50,000 or so are recognized as high scorers which is then narrowed down. Based on their high school academic record, skills, accomplishments, and other metrics, 7,250 students receive Merit Scholarship awards totaling nearly $28 million.
