As part of an ongoing project in the environmental engineering class (which you can read more about here!), Upper School students have moved on to the final steps of building their miniature self-sustaining environments. This week, students measured the fertility and pH of their soil, and checked their water for nitrates and oxygen since adding plants to the aquatic chambers last week. Finally, fish were added to the columns as the last step in the project! Students will now monitor their columns and collect data until Thanksgiving break, when the columns will be dismantled and the plants and the fish will be rehomed.

We are proud to welcome fishes Betty, Wally, Scout, and Salmonella to the Westridge family! Click here for photos.
