In the lead up to their Commencement ceremony next Friday, our Class of 2025 seniors have been enjoying a few last celebrations at Senior Recognition, College Commitment Day (a.k.a. Chalk Day), Senior Lunch, and Senior Retreat!

CHALK DAY FUN! Last Friday, seniors and their families celebrated Chalk Day, an annual Westridge tradition hosted by the College Counseling department (or "Team CoCo" as they're called!), where seniors chalk their college or university commitment via a logo on Ayrshire Courtyard. Most popular schools this year? First is USC with seven Tigers matriculating, followed by New York University in a close second with six committed. Four students will attend UC Berkeley, and—with three commits each—Carnegie Mellon University and Stanford University round out the list of highest Westridge matriculants. (Click here for the Class of 2025 college acceptances list.)

Head of School Andrea Kassar and Team CoCo shared celebratory remarks to all in attendance. "I know you know that life will not always be perfect. But, regardless of the situation, remember your power … Learn new things and make an impact. Recognize your potential and go after your dreams. And never ever stop being your memorable, bold selves," Director of College Counseling Monique Eguavoen shared in her speech. "I am better for knowing you, and I am excited the rest of the world gets the chance to." To cap off the event, the seniors enjoyed cupcakes and raised a glass of sparkling apple cider to mark their achievements before heading over to Ms. Kassar's Merwin House for a lunch to honor the class.
