Rise and shine! A crew of early risers have begun to gather before the school day for the Upper School Banned Books Club! The club, which started in the spring, kicked off its first meeting of the year yesterday with the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. "The Banned Books Club focuses on bringing together students across grades 9-12 to have meaningful and nuanced discussions on the books that have shaped our world," said Writing Center Fellows Frances B. '27, Nina K. '26, and Rebecca L. '27, who lead the club. "Through snacks and weekly meetings, we hope to foster a community where everyone feels comfortable voicing their thoughts, engaging in difficult conversations, and building connections in and outside of the book club!"

Upper School students interested in joining can still submit their interest here. The club meets on Wednesday mornings from 7:55-8:30 am, and the fellows hope the group can read one banned book a month (including suggestions from all members!).
