Even a little rain couldn't keep our newest middle schoolers and their families from celebrating during today's 6th Grade Recognition Ceremony! Gathered in the PAC, students and families heard from Head of School Andrea Kassar, Lower & Middle School Director Dr. Zanita Kelly, and Lower School Student Activities and Leadership Council (SALC) President Rebecca U. G. '29. "In such a short time, we have been through a lot of trials and challenges, yet we persevered. We learned that perfection is a weakness and mistakes are the true key to knowledge. We learned that our lack of confidence is what truly restrains us from not achieving our goals. Most importantly, we learned that we must try to be united by our similarities and have the wisdom to see the advantages of our differences," Rebecca said.

Students also recited their "Where I'm From" poems (inspired by George Ella Lyon's poem), sang "Lava" from Disney's "Lava," and received their certificates officially marking their transition to Middle School.

Congratulations, Class of 2029! See photos from the ceremony and following reception here and watch video highlights from the ceremony here.
