Our 4th grade class is showing their heartfelt appreciation to firefighters and first responders by creating beautiful handmade cards and intricate origami cranes—symbols of hope in Japanese culture. Fourth grade teacher Danielle Houser will be delivering these cards to the Rose Bowl, where first responders are staged. In addition, some of these carefully crafted cranes, adorned with personal messages of encouragement, will be strung together into a garland to bring encouragement to residents who were evacuated from Altadena assisted living facilities.
