Carol van Zalingen
Our Lower & Middle School Dean of Student Support Carol van Zalingen passed away on April 14 in Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena from complications related to COVID–19.
Carol (or "Ms. V.", as she was lovingly nicknamed by our students) was an ardent supporter of girls' education and a strong believer in the importance of play in the lives of young girls. At the suggestion of Carol's family, contributions in her honor may be made to Westridge; these gifts will help fund the planned renovations to the Lower & Middle School playground, where a space will be designated to commemorate Carol.
Her brother Michael wrote: “…the school was her life, and she was happier once she joined Westridge. It was like Harry Potter arriving at Hogwarts.”
