Our Campus

Our Campus

When students first set foot on our campus in sunny Pasadena, California, they often tell us that this is when they first feel we are the school for them.

At first glance, you’ll see girls making our campus their own—climbing the trees (an unofficial school tradition!), gathering on our library patio, and sprinting across Ayrshire Courtyard to claim their spot in line at the Commons for lunch. You’ll see them hard at work tinkering in the STEAMWork Design Studio (a lab for imagining and inventing) and you’ll hear the strains of the orchestra rehearsal floating across campus from Braun Auditorium. That feeling of belonging at Westridge is no accident; we are thoughtfully creating spaces for girls to grow and thrive.

When you look closer, you’ll see that every inch of our campus has a rich history that spans more than 100 years. We have been located on Madeline Drive since the days of our founding in the early 1900s, and have expanded from the single house that once constituted the whole of our school, to an expansive, park-like campus nestled into a quiet, residential neighborhood. Through the decades, we have acquired and maintained contemporary and historic architecture, including Pitcairn House, a craftsman built in 1906 by the influential early 20th Century architects Greene & Greene. Our unique blend of buildings designed by leading architects of the past and state-of-the-art structures like our Performing Arts Center and Learning Commons, makes Westridge a dynamic learning environment.

The Westridge Green Commitment: Sustainability in Design & Practice

As we teach our students to become responsible global citizens in an interconnected world, we are also committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility in both design and practice. In 2010, we opened the Willametta Keck Day Science Center, a Platinum LEED-certified, sustainable facility dedicated to girls studying science and math.

Additionally, the operation of our campus promotes responsible environmental practices to reduce energy consumption through education programs; recycling, composting, and waste management; and water and energy conservation policies.
