Students entering the 9th Grade are going to spend the next four years moving from mid- to late-adolescence while studying a rich curriculum that is informed by their own developmental and intellectual experience and capabilities. The collective instincts of earlier adolescence will give way to increasingly individualized understanding of their own interests.
While the collaborative skills that began to take root in Lower School come fully into bloom here, each girl’s responsibility for her academic direction and performance rests increasingly on her own shoulders. As the idea of college and life beyond grows less abstract, the real world value of critical thinking, risk taking, and accountability comes fully into focus.
With access to every discipline, as well as electives and advanced courses of study, Westridge students will leave here literate not only in the written word, but also in math, sciences, foreign language, fine and performing arts, technology, and athletics.
